A TRUE INSPIRATION, ELON MUSK

Elon Musk, is one of the most interesting individuals to exist, the famous rich guy that is responsible for the success of Tesla and SpaceX. On my list of people that I would rather be than myself, Elon Musk is at the top. Musk has struggled through experiences some of us can relate to and still he found his way to achieving his goals. He has made extraordinary amounts of money and is using most of it for our benefit. Tesla, giving us electric cars that are sleek and better for the environment. SpaceX, pushing us into the future with space exploration that is privately funded. PayPal, providing us easy and safe online banking.

HE FAILED UNTIL HE SUCCEDED

Musk’s childhood was not happy. Anytime that Musk is interviewed more specifically the interview with 60 minutes Musk refer to his father as evil. Elon musk’s father Errol was once tried and acquitted of manslaughter. The man shot and killed three men that attempted to break into his home while he was there.

If that is not enough to make you think a man is evil Errol had a son with his stepdaughter Jenna who is 40 years younger than him. You did not read that incorrectly yes, I said stepdaughter. Elon musk’s father was not the only dark side of his childhood. Mosque was bullied as a child. If you call almost killing a kid bullying. He ended up in the hospital once after a group of boys pushed him down a flight of stairs. On one occasion Elon Musk described the bullying as almost beaten to death.

ONE OF US!

Elon musk created a video game and turned a profit at the age of 12. The video game, Blastar, sold for 500 dollars to a PC and Office Technology magazine. He admits that video games are his weakness and is addicted to gaming to this day. Aren’t we all Elon!

Additionally, Elon enjoys playing dungeons and dragons from time to time. When playing with Trey Parker, Musk instantly knew what character type he was going to be. See the video below of Trey discussing this at Comic Con.

NOT YOUR REGULAR COLLEGE DROPOUT

Musk dropped out of two different schools but that did not stop him from setting the standard for being a successful businessman. He left Queens University to study at the University of Pennsylvania and after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania he went to Stanford University in California to get his PhD. Musk only spent two days at the Stanford University! It has been stated that he left the University because he felt Internet had much more potential to change the society than work in physics. That was an accurate statement looking at where society is today and what he has provided the world. Unlike a regular college dropout musk went on to sell his company Zip2 for millions of dollars only a year later after dropping out. The company sold for 307 million dollars which would go on to fund his other endeavors

Musk then went on to X.com which later rebranded to become PayPal. PayPal specialized in transferring money online and is still taken advantage of to this date. Musk got to enjoy another large paycheck as eBay bought PayPal in 2002 for 1.5 billion dollars.

INSPIRATIONAL PASSION FOR SCIENCE

Elon Musk is a man of passion and I believe that is what I envy the most about him. He can set his mind to a goal and ensure himself that he can achieve it. When he does not achieve a goal, he utilizes that failure as momentum to push him towards another success.

One of his bigger passions in life is science. Elon believes that for humanity to survive we need to become a multi-planet species. This is how SpaceX came to be and, in my opinion, this is how we will continue to further our knowledge of the universe without costing the citizens of America more in taxes. Elon Musk found a need for more affordable rockets to launch humanity into becoming a species that survives. In 2002 he accomplished this by greeting space exploration technologies to make more affordable rockets.
