So, you’ve gathered some fiber, killed a few zombies and you think the seventh day is no big deal? Well you’re right. The first seventh day is a breeze compared to the hoards afterwards. When you’re planning on building a 7 Days To Die base it is wise to stock up on supplies because the best base involves some serious materials.

Surviving the first night

If you are still in the process of gathering materials, I suggest, slightly fortifying a two-story home. When looking for a place to settle down, chose one that already has some brick or concrete for its walls. Getting a house set up is relatively simple and can be done with a stack of wood and iron to fortify doors and windows. If you can board up enough make sure you have some sort of weapon and an escape plan on the second floor incase the zombies break through. Once daytime comes you can pick them off a lot easier.

Your first 7 Days To Die base will not be special as you want to save those building resources. Gather iron from iron ore deposits, large iron towers, railing, and by scrapping various items. Iron will be essential for the rebar you will eventually make. Never leave a stone behind. Stone is important for building many items in 7 Days To Die. Regarding your base, you will need to have stone for creating concrete mix and to make sand for the mix. Additionally, you will need to know how to craft a forge, crafting table, and cement mixer.

The 7 Days To Die Base Design

Rebar reinforced concrete is the best for keeping zombies out. By utilizing the stronger blocks and traps you can fend off larger hoards on the 7th day.

Take an apartment complex and reinforce the outside two blocks thick and 3 blocks high with the rebar reinforced blocks. Pro tip is to harvest iron rocks and then keep digging down to harvest the rest of the ore that is hidden below. That iron will need to be thrown in the forge so you can make a lot of rebar frames.

Do the same technique for rock gathering. Rocks are the glue that hold your 7 Days To Die base together. Rocks will go in the cement mixer to make sand and in the forge to make cement mix. Cement mix can also be found by looting homes that look like they are under construction. Shotgun Messiah buildings house a lot of cement mix and cobblestone. Cobblestone can be scraped to create more stone.

Save time while building your 7 days to die base

All of this is very time consuming so plan accordingly. My advice is to gather as much stone and iron as possible, then throw those resources in the appropriate tools and start the crafting/smelting process. While your stuff is cooking go looting! Looting allows you to gather resources for building your 7 Days To Die base. Collect resources like, cement, cobblestone, iron, brass, mechanical parts, electrical parts, and more. In this game it is better to be a hoarder.

The Double Door Technique

Utilize two vault or iron doors in your first entryway with a small hallway in between them. Next to the door place two blocks on the ground and on top place two iron bars side by side. This will allow you to shoot the incoming zombies. Getting in on the action reduces the number of zombies breaking your doors down. It also amounts for a much more entertaining day 7. See the video later in this article to give a better visual.

The Automated Defense for the Base

Set up a few turrets along the outside of your entrance to reduce the zombies who make it to the door. Then set up a few blade traps as you ascend the apartment building to utilize as a last-ditch effort to survive. Above the blade traps fix an electrical fence to keep the zombies on the blade trap. The electrical fence will keep them at bay for some time while you keep moving.

Every 7 Days TO Die Base is unique & special

Get creative and try new ideas for surviving the night. Keep in mind at the earlier days concrete is best but the difficulty will continue to rise. Share your insights on what makes a 7 Days To Die base the best.
